It is with great excitement that Blimpie shares our latest photos from the racetrack! Blimpie is currently sponsoring a car and driver in the Star Mazda Championship series, which is the feeder series into Indy. We are thrilled to be on board with this team and the best news is our driver, Charles Hall, is currently ranked #1 in the standings – Blimpie really picked a winner!

Randy G. Pirotin Educational Scholarship
It is with great pride that Blimpie announces the winner of the 2009/2010 Randy G. Pirotin Educational Scholarship. Michelle Keen, daughter of Blimpie owners Arthur and Kay Keen in Boise, ID, has been named the first recipient of the award. This award was created after the passing of long-time Blimpie Area Developer, Randy Pirotin, by Kahala and the Blimpie Area Developer Community.
Randy Glenn Pirotin was an important and integral member of the Blimpie community for over 30 years. Born November 28, 1952 in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, he grew up in New York and rose from the humblest origins, bussing tables and making sandwiches, to becoming a distinguished business and civic leader. Today, the next generation of leadership has taken over, but Randy’s enthusiastic spirit continues. Randy was the unrelenting entrepreneur, developing numerous neighborhood eateries, re-developing historic, niche apartment buildings, and guiding the development of internet-based financial services. Randy knew the price of success: dedication, hard work, and the unremitting devotion to the things you want to see happen. His battle with cancer was one of the most powerful accounts of hope, grace, and optimism. Randy Glenn Pirotin, passed away Sunday the 27th of July in 2008 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 55.
In honor of Randy Pirotin’s life and legacy, Blimpie, Kahala and the Area Developers for the brand, created this Educational Scholarship in his name. Randy stood for the highest in excellence in all things he undertook, both personally and professionally. It is with great humility and pride that Blimpie offers the scholarship application to any current associate of the Blimpie brand. The scholarship is awarded every summer for the forthcoming academic school year, to one recipient, in the amount of $5000.00.
